I Need Some Expert Advice.?

I'm planning to do or have some upgrades done to this desktop.

The upgrades are: 1. I want to install a video capture card %26amp; internal modem card for a broadband connection, But as there is only 3 internal slots %26amp; 1 is obstructed by the already installed graphics card. Q. Is it possible to change the position of the graphics card [ to another slot ]without causing major headaches?

And if so do all the drivers need to be reinstalled or will the computer simply act the same as when you change a devices USB port?

2. I want to add an extra internal hard drive [ as the external hd is filling fast %26amp; the internal is already near full ] as a slave drive. Q. Will I need to change my power supply %26amp; if so how do you work out what size is needed, also is there any special drivers needed to run the additional hard drive as a slave drive, am I restricted to the size of the additional hard drive by the size of the existing hard drive?

Well I hope there is some one out there who can either answer the queries I have or point me towards someone / website that can.I Need Some Expert Advice.?
If the other slots are the same then you can move the video card, it shouldn't matter or need anything reinstalled. As for the new internal drive chances are you don't need a new power supply and yes you can get a drive bigger then your existing one.I Need Some Expert Advice.?
Dunno! Even experts cant help you without makes and model numbersI Need Some Expert Advice.?
If you do not have enough slots, buy a new motherboard.

Without enough information, eg, make of the desktop etc

you get limited advice.I Need Some Expert Advice.?
1) Maybe. It depends on the card and the motherboard. For the last few years, usually graphics cards have gone into a special slot designed to optimize video performance (PCI-E or AGP before that); you wouldn't be able to fit such a card into a standard PCI slot. Look at the slots on the motherboard to see what you have.

2) In most reasonably well-designed computers, you shouldn't need to upgrade your power supply just to add one peripheral. If you want to double check (or if you've previously added other internal components) you could note the power requirements of the major components and add them together, then compare to what the power supply is rated for; if under the wattage given by the power supply, you're golden. If over, get a new supply ASAP. If close, might be a good idea to get a new one to be on the safe side, anyway.

As for the drive, it depends on the age of the machine and what connectors your motherboard has. Generally you set it to master/slave using jumpers on the drives themselves; you may also need to swap placement on the cables connecting them to the motherboard. Instructions for your new drive would come with the drive, though you may need to look up the manufacturer's website for the other drive for assistance with that one, if it's not clear from the unit itself. Size is not dependent on the first drive.I Need Some Expert Advice.?
1. Not likely, unless you're using a PCI video card. If it's AGP or PCI-Express, then there's no chance of it.

You do need new drivers, but the cards will likely come with the required drivers (unless you're running Vista, windows 7 or some other newer system)

2. You likely won't need a new PSU because the load of an external HD is VERY minimal. No you don't need additional drivers, it'll just use the default USB drivers. And no, your external drive can be whatever size. I recommend 500GB to 1TB.
