Theres no easy way to find out if your system is getting enough power. I don't believe there're any software that will do this for you. If you know a lot about circuits then I guess you can measure voltage with a multimeter or something but even still that's very difficult and dangerous (easy risk of shorting stuff).

But from your setup I think 550W is somewhat borderline. How is your pump powered? is it by AC or by your power supply - if its through the power supply I would say you're drawing a little too much.

If the pump is AC powered and your computer is running fine then I see no need to upgrade the power supply. How Do I know my power supply is low or high?

Try typing in your specs and adjusting until you find the PSU that is right for you.

I would go with the corsair 520HX PSu http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as as it is in your range and one of the best available for the price.

I'd also recommend a 8800gts card insted of yours, as it is cheaper and performs great on the best games at highest resolution.

I have a 8800gtx which is about the same price and it played bioshcok flawlessly at full resolution on a 42%26quot; 1080p tv, but some people prefer ATI. Whatever works for you

Boy!

Bro I'm a student currently studying for system admin. So to ur quetion there is one u need to know. U only touch or repair a power supply if u ar trained to do so. And the rule is if the power supply have problem just replace with the new one. Take that system notes to shop. Thanx boy.
