How to change my power supply?

the power up light keep blinkin out and when it dose my screen starts to moveHow to change my power supply?
The power suplly is the easiest thing to change on a computer.

Alittle common sense and it should be as simple as unplugging her to plug new in the same places.

If you think its the power supply, then go get one and good thing is if it isnt the power supply you can always return it.

But if it is the power supply you will save yourself diagnostic costs and the cost of repair plus the cost of the power supply.

So Im all for doing it yourself.

FIRST -- remove the power cord to behind your computer

SECOND -- open the computer

THIRD -- (heres the tricky part) will the new power supply fit into your system

But heres a way to get by just to check if it is a power supply problem

Get a power supply -- now theres really not too much to it.

Look at the connectors

Hold the new power supply in your hand as you disconnect each cable from the power supply.

Start with the (2) connections to the motherboard, one large one small

Youll have a tiny connection to the floppy

Then its a matter of your hard drive(s) and CD-DVD Drives.

Thats it

you could even just place the power supply connected (while your old power supply stays in its oroginal place, and turn the power button on --after youve plugged power to the new power supply.

If alls a go, you are good to go.

your next concern would be will the new power supply fit into your case? Or do you need to buy a new one.

Good thing is that cases are pretty cheap now. So ONLINE a new case and power supply combo could cost less then 50 bucks.

In store it will cost 50+ for just the case and another 50+ for the power supply.

But this little do it yourself attempt wil at least let you know if it is a power supply issue.

NOT AS HARD AS PEOPLE ARE MAKING IT SEEM.

ONCE YOU UNPLUG THE POWER CORD, your chances of doing damage are limited to how careful you are not to bang, bend any of the inner components.

Just do it all on a linoleum floor rather than a carpet

and always touch the metal case of the tower before proceeding towards the components.

This releases the static electricity that the human body naturally carries with it that could potentiallly damage computer components,.

BUT

doing it on a linoleum floor

Touching the metal part of case

and not banging anything

You will be fine

Try it for yourself..

If you can change spark plug wires then deifintely you can change a computers power supply

P.S. be careful about SHAWNS Answers. He has this resume and 14 years computer experience but is just now enrolled in an A+ course???

after 14 years he should be able to fly by the A+, I know I didHow to change my power supply?

If you have to ask this question, you do not have enough experience troubleshooting computers. Take the computer to a sevice center. How to change my power supply?
Additional advice: Don't turn it on anymore until you have replaced the power supply. If you continue to try to use it you can fry other components that it drives. I lost a hard drive that way and had to replace them both.
