How hard is it to install new motherboard and processor in a computer.?

Took it to the shop to have it diagnosed and they need to be replaced. Im gonna try it myself to save labor costs. Ive changed the power supply previously with no problems, is it pretty simple to switch out these parts? ThanksHow hard is it to install new motherboard and processor in a computer.?
Swapping processors is very easy. Changing out a motherboard isn't nearly as simple, though. If you want to try it, here's the best way. Practice on the one that's installed right now. You can't mess it up any more than it already is, and you'll learn.

First, make sure that the power supply is NOT plugged into the wall. Then, in your kitchen (you can't work on a computer while standing on carpet!!), open your case, and before touching anything inside, touch an unpainted metal part of the case.

If you go back into the carpeted part of the house, ground yourself again on an unpainted portion of the case. If you don't do this, you'll have to buy replacements for all of the %26quot;parts%26quot; inside your case that you touch, even while just practicing.

Practice removing the memory, and reinstalling it. Practice removing the processor and it's heatsink, and reinstalling it. Practice taking out all of your PCI/AGP/PCI-E cards, and reinstalling them. If done correctly, you can save a considerable amount of money, by doing it yourself. If not done correctly, you can cost yourself hundreds of extra dollars, by having to replace parts that weren't bad to begin with.;-)How hard is it to install new motherboard and processor in a computer.?
It isn't that hard to put these parts together, but the problem would be making sure that they will actually work especially the motherboard what with all the wires and jumper settings you need to set. Unless you know the basic principles of PC rigging, save yourself some headache and a lot of frustation and let a qualified tech do the job.How hard is it to install new motherboard and processor in a computer.?
Changing the motherboard is more complicated, and it is worth the cost to let an expert do it in a few minutes. I have replaced a motherboard, and will not do it again. How hard is it to install new motherboard and processor in a computer.?

for the processor, you just need to be careful when you want to install it on the motherboard.. make sure it is compatible and put it right on the hole...How hard is it to install new motherboard and processor in a computer.?
Go to your local library and get a book on how to build PCs. They will take you through it step by step. Follow what alchemy said he's giving good advice to you. It isn't the hardest thing I've done. Just make certain that you have the proper mobo CPU socket size/manufacturer for the processor that you're planning to use. That means use a mobo designed for AMD for the processors that use sockets 754, 939, and AM2. Intel mobos are similar, but use different CPU socket size numbers .
