PC power supply and specs ?

I have upgraded to a better graphics card. Turns out it started to give my PC the Blue Screen of Death. To prevent this i removed it and im back with my dedicated card. I have been informed that in order to upgrade to a better card and if you want your pc to handle it you have to change the power supply too. My question is how do i find the specs of my pc's power supply and what do i have to look for in order to buy a more powerful one ? My pc is HP Pavilion m8247c Media Center PC. If you know anything about it pls answer my question. Thanks ;) !PC power supply and specs ?
The power supply in an HP Pavilion Media Center m8247c is part number 5188-2625, 300-watt %26quot;Merlot C%26quot; regulated, with 19A available on a single +12V rail.

Which power supply might be an appropriate upgrade depends on which video card you plan to run (the power requirements for it).

This is one of the less expensive power supplies that's pretty good, Corsair 400 watt, with 30A on the +12V.

(That's enough power to support many good video cards, though not super high end ones.)PC power supply and specs ?
Depends on the graphics card. My recommendation is: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asPC power supply and specs ?
The huge problem with HP is that they don't tell people about their power supplies - and they make it damned difficult to replace one (so my guess is, they want you to always throw your computer away when your PSU goes out or is no longer good enough).

Anyway, open up your computer and take a look at the power supply and see if there is a label that says what Watt size you have. If you have bought one of the advanced graphics cards, you may well require an extra 6 pin 12 volt plug coming from the PSU straight to the card. Since you didn't share WHICH card it is, I don't have a clue as to how many watts it would pull...thus no idea of waht to recommend to you.

My feeling about it is that, the blue screen is not being caused by the PSU, it is being caused due to a faulty driver or an incompatible driver.

So go to the manufacturer site for the card and see if they have an updated driver. THat is what I would do.
