My PC been like this for nearly 2 years, it reboots sometimes on me.?

ok well the PC i owned for nearly 2 years was built by a person who custom built it for me and got the parts. I payed $3000 NZD for it at least.

Its been rebooting ever since i got it built i even tried getting technician to fix it but he didnt bother coming :/. I know how to build computers and fix them but im not so good with faulty material.

I have random reboots and they can vary sometimes not happen at all for a day and sometimes a few times a day it usually happens when i have a game running or a heavy cpu usage im kinda use to it but sometimes can be very annoying. i always use my computer all day so its on always half a day.I think its my power supply cause its only 430W+ but my graphics card says it needs 450W+

Specifications:

CPU: AMD Athlon 3500+ PCI-E 2.21ghz

RAM: 1gb DDR4

Graphics Card: ATI Radeon X1900XT 512mb PCI-E

PSU:Thermatake 430W 12V

Motherboard: Asrock 939NF4G-SATA2

I think its my power supply should i change it? is it something else causing the problem? My PC been like this for nearly 2 years, it reboots sometimes on me.?
Windoze has a default setting to restart when an error occurs.

**Windows XP

To specify what Windows does if the system stops unexpectedly

You must be logged on as an administrator or a member of the Administrators group in order to complete this procedure. If your computer is connected to a network, network policy settings might also prevent you from completing this procedure.

Open System in Control Panel.

On the Advanced tab, under Startup and Recovery, click Settings.

Under System Failure, uncheck %26quot;automatically reboot%26quot;

**Vista

1. Click on Start and then Control Panel.

Tip: In a hurry? Type system in the search box after clicking Start. Choose System from the list of results and then skip to Step 4.

2. Click on the System and Maintenance link.

Note: If you're viewing the Classic View of Control Panel, you won't see this link. Simply double-click on the System icon and proceed to Step 4.

3. Click on the System link.

4. In the task pane on the left, click the Advanced system settings link.

5. Locate the Startup and Recovery area and click on the Settings button.

6. In the Startup and Recovery window, locate and uncheck the check box next to Automatically restart.

7. Click OK in the Startup and Recovery window.

8. Click OK in the System Properties window.

9. You can now close the System window.

10. From now on, when a problem causes a BSOD or another major error that halts the system, the PC will not automatically reboot. My PC been like this for nearly 2 years, it reboots sometimes on me.?
Sounds like it's overheating. Also when is the last time you cleaned inside it? it can become cooler after you remove all the dust.My PC been like this for nearly 2 years, it reboots sometimes on me.?
It can either be the power supply or the CPU overheating. but this sounds more like the CPU overheating in my opinion ...My PC been like this for nearly 2 years, it reboots sometimes on me.?

this happened to me, it is the power supply.

you can change the power supply or disconnected the hardwares you're not using such as extra dvd-rom, hard disk.

in my case it was the agp graphic card consuming the power. around 2 min into playing warcraft III the computer restarts. it also happens when i use itunes, about 30% of the time when i play a song or change a song the computer crashes.

i was using geforce 4 Ti4200 on amd athlon xp 2000+My PC been like this for nearly 2 years, it reboots sometimes on me.?
Btw...there's no way u have DDR4 RAM, especially if its 2 yrs old. People r just starting to turn to DDR3 now. DDR2 is still more common. Just thought i'd say tht...
