How can I get my hard drive to work in another computer?

I have an emachine computer and the power supply went out. I have another emachine computer that I have for parts. They are not the exact same model but the power supply is. I changed all of my computer parts over to the computer I had for parts since when I put power supply in nothing happened. I switched over my hard drive and now it says that there is a problem with the hard drive setting. The computer has t6he corect hard drive listed but windows will not load. I am sure this is the most confusing question ever but I hope someone out there has dealt with this before. Any tips on what I could do would be great. Thanks! How can I get my hard drive to work in another computer?
Check the drive jumpers. They must be in Master position on only one device per ide cable (the flat ribbon). So if your drive is slave and your cd-rom is slave too then it won't work.

you probably wont be able to use it as a primary Harddrive BUT you can connect it as a slave drive and get all your information off. just connect it to a machine that already has a windows installation on it on another drive and install yours from the emachine in there... make sure its set to %26quot;slave%26quot; in the jumpers. Then you can access your information no problem and you don't have to worry about things like mobo settings on the emachine drive etc.
