I have an XM radio cigarette lighter power converter. It changes the 12V DC power in a car to 5V DC 2000mA to run the stereo. I want to hard wire the stereo power supply into the ignition switch so that the radio turns on and off with the car. How do I convert the 12V car power to 5VDC 2000mA without the use of the cigarette lighter plug?
Can the circuit board thats in the plug be re-wired into the car harness? and how? Is the center pin in the plug + or - ?Converting 12V DC to 5V DC?
