Windows vista won't start?

i upgraded from xp a long time ago, and i changed the power supply, and the previous was i guess 300 watt or whatever, and now i have 400. how do i know it won't start up? well, the cooler (one of the 2 (or 3?)- not sure which one) is working TOO rapidly, i don't know why - it should work like this very rarely, and just for 1 or 2 secs. now, it works for whatever time, i mean, if u leave the computer to work for 1 minute, the cooler will work for 1 minute, if u leave it 4 24 hours, it will work for 24 hours (didn't try it yet, just guessing) i'm not even sure if it's a hardware problem - yesterday i installed a new antivirus, can it be the reason? anyway, how do i start it up? (if u r interested, i have a old mac) any suggestions will be welcomedWindows vista won%26039;t start?
you mean the fan. That one is okay if it is spinning rapidly.

Here comes the help:-

1. Shutdown your PC.

2. Press F8 before the Windows logo shows up.

3. Select %26quot;Last Good Configuration%26quot;.

4. Restart. You should now be able to access Windows again.

Your PC should now be starting fine. Remove the antivirus and install COMODO Internet Security. It is free and more powerful than most, if not all, antivirus suite currently available in the market.

If however that does not work, see below:-

1. Insert your Windows Installation Disk.

2. Restart your PC. Make sure you can boot from the CD/DVD.

3. Let Windows installation loads from the CD/DVD.

4. Follow instruction until you see an option to repair your computer.

5. Follow the instructions and let the program run.

When it finishes you should be able to start your windows again.

Once that happens remove the the antivirus and install the COMODO Internet Security. Please make sure to choose %26quot;Scan My Computer%26quot; when asked.Windows vista won%26039;t start?

hope this helpsWindows vista won%26039;t start?
not realyl sure what your saying since your words are quite jumbled around.... but... seems like your computer is overheating a lot, and it may not be starting up because there is a malfunction in the motherboardWindows vista won%26039;t start?
Gggg.. Ack.. Erp...

If I catch your drift, your computer doesn't go, but one of the cooling fans is working overtime.

What you need to do is install or re-install the Vista chipset drivers for your motherboard if such a thing exists. If the fan is freaking out and it is not an always on fan, then the software controller is borked, Unless this is a chip fan, in which case it all gets summed up quite neatly by a bad processor. A fried CPU can get hot, and I mean HOT, so the fan may be doing its thing.

Does the machine work at all? Can you boot to safe mode and ax the AV? Is this Norton 360 by any chance? I just had a NASTY encounter with that on a vista box. If it works at all, then the processor is okay. If you can get to safe mode try stopping the AV processes in msconfig for startup, and reboot.

Okay, download a puppy linux live CD from here:

http://puppylinux.org

stick that in the drive and boot your machine. You don;t care about puppy linux, but you DO care that it fires up your box, thus telling you that the RAM chips, and Processor are okay. If puppy fires up your machine, you have a bad boot sector on your hard drive. If puppy does NOT fie up the box, your processor has gone the way of all things.
