How can I fix my 9800 gx2 computer to play Left 4 Dead without crashing every 15 minutes?

My rig is an I7 965 processor

asus rampage 2

nvidia 9800 gx2 (latest drivers)

windows xp

abs tagan 1300 watt ps

and 6 gb of corsair ddr3 1866 mhz ram

I shouldn't have problems with this set up running Left 4 Dead but it always crashes or blue screens 15 minutes into game Play. I wonder if I should downgrade to a 9800 gtx, or if I should be changing my power supply?

I just think how can I not get enough power running a 1300 watt. It's impossible! Maybe the power isn't continuous or stable enough?

I also had a BFG 9800 gx2 which blew out in the process of trying to set it up to quad sli. now reduced down to a single EVGA 9800 gx2.

Also when I try to run Dawn of war 2, my computer basically crashes every 15 minutes while running in multi gpu mode.

When running in single GPU mode, everything seems to be a bit more stable.

I haven't tried to run Left 4 Dead in single GPU mode which I will try tonight.

Anyone that could be gracious enough to help me, you'll be helping a year long problem I've been dealing with.

I previously had an Nvidia 8600 GTS in my old old rig, and I was able to run Left 4 Dead all day. why is the 9800 gx2 so unstable?!

Which also makes me wonder is the GTX 295 any different? How can I fix my 9800 gx2 computer to play Left 4 Dead without crashing every 15 minutes?
I don't think it's the gx2. it could be over heating, whihc is a flaw of the card, I know because I have two also. I had to water cool mine adn now I have no issues. make sure the fan os turned all the way up. download rivatuner to do this. the fan really should be set to %80 or higher or else the temps will hover at 85-100c.

Now I think you have your cpu overclocked. Am I right? make sure it has enough voltage. the gx2 won't bsod your computer, however an overlcocked 965 wihtout porper colling and voltage will.

So think about getting a watercooling setup for your gx2 if oyu don't want the fan noise, and make sure that the air flow is not influanced by blocked cables or poor fan placement.

Also for the 965 ensure the voltage will help overlcok and keap an eye on the temps. a stable overclock will not bsod in a game a bad one will.

Hope this helpsHow can I fix my 9800 gx2 computer to play Left 4 Dead without crashing every 15 minutes?
Have you installed the appropriate drivers? I know jack nothing about SLI and dual video cards so I can't help much there but improper drivers can crash the system real fast. You also may have a RAM problem. I would test out some different sticks and see if it still blue screens.

From there, let us know what happens. How can I fix my 9800 gx2 computer to play Left 4 Dead without crashing every 15 minutes?
Is it a bsod or artifacting?
