How do you change the boot sequence on an windows system when you install a new hard drive ?

I'm asking this for future references in case i have to install a new hard drive in my 2008 model HP Desktop that runs on Windows Vista. It is a old computer modernized by a close friend, he installed a new HP motherboard and the power supply and everything except the Hard Drive and The Optical Drives.
